In this new age, the wine, the cup, the Jam are new, The Saqi’s ways of grace and wrath are fashioned new. The Muslim, too, has built his sanctum all anew, While Civilization’s idol-smith carves idols new. Of all these newer gods, the greatest is the Nation; The robe it wears is Faith’s own final desecration.

This idol, forged by this new age’s philosophy, Lays waste the Prophet’s house of faith and piety. Your arm is mighty with the strength of Oneness still, Your homeland is Islam, you serve the Prophet’s will. O Mustafavi, show the world that ancient sight! And grind this hollow idol into dust and night!

To be confined to one place is calamity, Live free within the ocean, like a fish at sea. To leave one’s home is the Beloved’s sacred way, So bear you witness to the Prophet’s truth today. In the discourse of the state, the Nation is but land; In the Prophet’s teaching, Homeland is by God’s command.

Among the world’s great peoples, rivalry it sows, The aim of trade becomes conquest where’er it goes. From it, all politics from truth and candor flees, And by its hand the weak man’s home is brought to its knees. By it, God’s own creation is in pieces torn, By it, the roots of Islam’s brotherhood are shorn.
