20th Century Allama Iqbal UrduThe Human Being
The scenes of the garden's expanse, whether beautiful or unadorned— The Narcissus, deprived of action, is a compelled spectator.
It feels nothing of the pleasure of movement; The Pine's very nature is devoid of longing.
Whatever exists in the world is accustomed to submission; Every power of the Human Being is aflame with striving.
This single particle forever holds a yearning for vastness; This is not a particle—perhaps it is a desert contracted to a point.
If it so chooses, it can change the very form of the garden; This being is wise, is perceptive, is potent.
