Ajab waa'iz ki deen-daari hai ya Rabb

What wondrous piety, for all to see, He holds the entire world in enmity.

For no one yet has understood of man: From where he comes, or where his journey goes.

The very source that gives the night its dark, Is where the star receives its shining spark.

And as for our own tale of heartfelt pain, We tell it to our confidant alone.

So subtle are the preacher's sly designs, He trembles at the sound of the call to prayer.
