Now, for the maker of a well, half of his evil deeds perish when water begins to flow in it. // Vi_91.1 //
The maker of a pond is eternally satisfied and enjoys the world of Varuṇa. // Vi_91.2 //
The giver of water is always satisfied. // Vi_91.3 //
For the planter of a tree, the trees become his sons in the next world. // Vi_91.4 //
The giver of a tree pleases the gods with the blossoms of the tree. // Vi_91.5 //
And the guests with its fruits. // Vi_91.6 //
And travelers with its shade. // Vi_91.7 //
And the ancestors with the water when it rains from the sky. // Vi_91.8 //
The maker of a bridge attains heaven. // Vi_91.9 //
The maker of a temple attains the world of that very deity whose temple he makes. // Vi_91.10 //
By having it plastered with lime, he shines with fame. // Vi_91.11 //
By making it variegated, he attains the world of the Gandharvas. // Vi_91.12 //
By the gift of flowers, he becomes prosperous. // Vi_91.13 //
By the gift of ointments, he becomes famous. // Vi_91.14 //
By the gift of a lamp, he becomes endowed with good sight and illustrious everywhere. // Vi_91.15 //
By the gift of food, he becomes strong. // Vi_91.16 //
By removing the used offerings of a deity, he obtains the fruit of giving a cow. // Vi_91.17 //
And by sweeping a temple, by smearing it, by cleaning the leftovers of a Brāhmaṇa, by washing his feet, and by attending to the infirm. // Vi_91.18 //
In wells, gardens, and ponds, and in temples, / The one who performs a restoration obtains the original fruit. || Vi_91.19 ||
