The new moon day, the three aṣṭakās (अष्टकाs), the three anvaṣṭakās (अन्वष्टकाs), the full moon of Māgha, the thirteenth day of the dark fortnight after the full moon of Prauṣṭhapada, and the ripening of rice and barley. // Vi_76.1 //

These times for śrāddha (श्राद्ध) Prajāpati declared to be obligatory (nitya); / He who does not perform a śrāddha (श्राद्ध) on these days goes to hell. || Vi_76.2 ||
