Vishnu Smriti 35

Killing a Brāhmaṇa, drinking liquor, stealing a Brāhmaṇa's gold, and violating a preceptor's bed are great sins (mahāpātaka). // Vi_35.1 //

And association with such a person. // Vi_35.2 //

One who associates with a fallen person falls in a year. // Vi_35.3 //

By sharing a vehicle, a meal, food, or a bed. // Vi_35.4 //

But by matrimonial, sacrificial, or teaching relationships, one falls immediately. // Vi_35.5 //

These great sinners are purified by a horse-sacrifice, / And by visiting all the sacred bathing places on earth. || Vi_35.6 ||
