Now, the duties of women. // Vi_25.1 //
To follow the same vows as her husband. // Vi_25.2 //
To honor her mother-in-law, father-in-law, preceptor, deities, and guests. // Vi_25.3 //
To keep her household utensils well-ordered. // Vi_25.4 //
Not to be open-handed. // Vi_25.5 //
To keep her vessels well-guarded. // Vi_25.6 //
Not to be fond of black magic. // Vi_25.7 //
To be devoted to auspicious practices. // Vi_25.8 //
When her husband is away, not to adorn herself. // Vi_25.9 //
Not to go to others' houses. // Vi_25.10 //
Not to stand at the door or in windows. // Vi_25.11 //
Not to be independent in any act. // Vi_25.12 //
To be dependent on her father, husband, or son, in childhood, youth, and old age. // Vi_25.13 //
When her husband is dead, to practice chastity or to ascend the funeral pyre after him. // Vi_25.14 //
For women there is no separate sacrifice, no vow, nor any fast; The husband whom she serves, by that she is glorified in heaven. || Vi_25.15 ||
The woman who, while her husband is alive, undertakes a vow of fasting, She takes away her husband's life and goes to hell. || Vi_25.16 ||
A virtuous woman who, after her husband's death, remains established in chastity, Goes to heaven, even if she is sonless, like those who are celibate students. || Vi_25.17 ||
