Deliberation on Acts of the Insane and Dependent

What is given or done by one who is insane, intoxicated, or in another state of mind, is not valid proof. // K_464 //

An act done by a dependent, his master may annul it. Another should not dispute with the master, except for an act done by one who is frightened or insane. // K_465 //

A son whose father is alive is not independent, nor is a brother, a nephew, a younger brother in an undivided family, a slave, or a servant. // K_466 //

Acts of giving, pledging, or selling fields, houses, or slaves, when done by dependents, do not attain validity unless they are approved. // K_467 //

All these are valid in the sale and purchase of merchandise, if they have been approved to conduct such transactions. // K_468 //

Likewise, a brother, a son, or a nephew may act concerning fields and the like, if they have been empowered to perform the act by the master who is going away. // K_469 //

He who is empowered for a certain matter is the master in that matter. His master cannot annul the act done by him. // K_470 //

A father's power over his son and his son's wife is in matters of discipline; he has no power over his son in matters of sale or gift. // K_471 //
