20th Century Allama Iqbal UrduTwo Stars
Two stars, in close conjunction bright, One spoke into the other's light:
"What bliss, a perpetual union, And our long wandering's end begun;
If but the heavens would be kind, And our two lights as one could bind."
But this deep wish, this hopeful art, Was a prophecy that we must part.
For motion is a star's decree, Each on a path of destiny.
A dream of lasting union's plea, For parting is the cosmos's decree.
