In parting from the sun, the morning writhes in pain, For the evening star, twilight's eye weeps a bloody rain.

For Layla of the Eve, the Day as Qais does burn, The Morning Star, for endless light, does restlessly yearn.

The Pole Star to the caravan of stars did call, "For the grace of motion, I would give my all."

The springs for rivers yearn, the rivers for the main, The ocean's wave feels for the full moon a burning pain.

Eternal Beauty, veiled by flowers of every hue, Is restless, it is said, to be revealed to public view.
