    Vishnu Smriti 41

    Killing birds, aquatic animals, and those born in water. // Vi_41.1 //

    And worms and insects. // Vi_41.2 //

    Eating food associated with liquor. // Vi_41.3 //

    These are defiling acts (malāvaha). // Vi_41.4 //

    For defiling acts, the taptakṛcchra is the purification, / Or the kṛcchrātikṛcchra is the purifying prāyaścitta. || Vi_41.5 ||
