Ancient Kātyāyana SanskritHeirs to the Property of a Deceased Woman
Sisters with their husbands should divide it with their kinsmen. This is the law for strīdhana; thus the partition is arranged. // K_917 //
In the absence of daughters, that inheritance goes to the sons. What was given by her kinsmen goes to her kinsmen; in their absence, it goes to her husband. // K_918 //
The immovable property given to a daughter by her parents, if she dies without issue, always goes to her brother. // K_919 //
The strīdhana received by a woman from her father in the Āsura and other forms of marriage, in the absence of her offspring, is desired to go to her mother and father. // K_920 //
