Ancient Kātyāyana SanskritThe Chapter on Proof
For a certain reason, even the plaint can assume the character of a reply. Therefore, the proof is then said to be that which establishes the plaint. // K_211 //
When the reply has been written down and properly cleared as being without fault, the procedure of proof is then desired for either the defendant or the plaintiff. // K_212 //
That which the plaintiff intends to clearly establish himself is the matter to be proven. The means by which that entire matter is proven is the proof. // K_213 //
