    Chapter 6

    Unknown

    Paragraph 5

Now then, as for the Lord Pañcatathāgata, having returned to their lokadhātus, they are now in your body. They become the five wisdoms (pañcajñāna). The five wisdoms are called: cakṣus, śrotra, ghrāṇa, jihvā, hṛdaya. cakṣus, that is, the eyes; śrotra, that is, the ears; ghrāṇa, that is, the nose; jihvā, that is, the mouth; hṛdaya, that is, the liver. These are called the five senses (pañcendriya). Now, as for the deities of the five senses: Lord Akṣobhya resides in the eyes, Lord Ratnasambhava resides in the ears, Lord Amitābha resides in the nose, Lord Amoghasiddhi resides in the mouth. He who is the sense of taste is Lord Vairocana, residing in the heart, he is the mind. There also are their respective devīs. That is what is called the Divine Five-Souls (Pañcātma), which form the self.
