Yesterday, an anguished soul was weeping bitterly at the Prophet's sacred resting place, saying, "The Muslims of Egypt and India are tearing down the very edifice of the Faith.

These pilgrims to the sanctuaries of the West—let them be a thousand of our leaders; what concern have we with them, who have remained strangers to You?

A horror, these self-absorbed guides! May God save Your people! By corrupting Your Muslims, they build their own prestige.

But who will listen, Iqbal? This whole assembly has changed; In this new age, you are telling us the same old stories!"
